Una ragazza di Seattle, Rosie
Larsen, scompare improvvisamente, dopo un week-end trascorso da sola a casa. Iniziano le ricerche da parte delle forze
dell'Ordine. Il giovane corpo di Rosie viene ritrovato senza vita, in un bagagliaio, in fondo a un lago. Chi l'ha
uccisa?

La trama di The Killing, remake della serie danese di successo Forbrydelsen, si dipana su tre diversi
piani narrativi collegati all'omicidio: le indagini della detective Sarah Linden, affiancata dal nuovo collega appena
arrivato in città Stephen Holder; il dolore che colpisce la famiglia della vittima, i due genitori e i due fratelli
minori; e un gruppo di politici locali che stanno organizzando una campagna elettorale e non gradirebbero proprio
ostacoli in corso d'opera.

Ognuno dei personaggi principali è connesso in qualche modo a Rosie ed è
quindi un possibile sospettato. Ogni personaggio non è quel che sembra e nasconde un segreto ancorato al passato;
ogni nuovo episodio svelerà un pezzo del puzzle, sullo sfondo di una Seattle cupa e piovosa.
